Greetings everyone.

  It is that time of year to elect chapter officers.  According to the bylaws, I am ineligible to run for Chapter President due to a 3-year limit.  So, we need someone to step up and volunteer to fill the President position.

  Additionally, Bob Little would like to move on from being the Vice President in charge of programs.

  To keep this chapter going, we need volunteers – and not just the same few who have filled the officer and committee positions for the past two decades.  If you have never served in one of our chapter leadership positions, or if you have but it has been a long time, please consider volunteering for a position and spent just a couple hours a month to ensure that the chapter has good meetings for us all to enjoy.

  There are a lot of events coming up in the area around Veterans Day.  I hope that you can attend some or all of them.  Here is a list of some of the events:

  November 5 (Sunday):  Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony at the Flower Mound High School Stadium. Picnic from 1-2pm, Ceremony at 2pm.

  November 7 (Tuesday): Election Day.  In addition to national elections, there are also 14 proposed propositions (amendments to the Texas Constitution) to consider

  November 8 (Wednesday):  North DFW MOAA Luncheon at Salerno’s starting at 12pm (See information later in the newsletter).

  November 9 (Thursday): Dallas Veterans Day Parade.  Starting at 11am from Dallas City Hall.  Our own Ron Forest is the Chairman of this event. Military vehicles and equipment, veterans’ organizations, civic and corporate displays will be available for viewing at 9:30 AM.

  November 10 (Friday): The Flower Mound Veterans Day Run: Throughout the day (9am to 2pm), participants commemorate our nation's veterans and their service by carrying the American flag by each Lewisville ISD school in Flower Mound, to provide an opportunity for students to encourage the runners.

  November 10 (Friday): Congressman Burgess and Highland Village Veterans Day Luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville. 11am to 1pm.  See the flyer in the newsletter.

  November 11 (Saturday):  Fort Worth Veterans Day Parade. 11am to 12:30pm

  November 11 (Saturday): The Therapeutic Recreational Group fundraiser and Cornhole tournament.  10am in Heritage Park in Flower Mound. See https://completesolutionsdfw.com/throw-down-landing-page/.
